The film begins with Peter Rabbit (voiced by James Corden) darting through the fields, accompanied by his woodland companions: Mr. Jeremy Fisher (voiced by Domhnall Gleeson), Pigling Bland (voiced by Ewen Leslie), and Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle (voiced by Sia), all while dodging the menacing Mr. Tod (voiced by Fayssal Bazzi). Alongside his family – cousin Benjamin Bunny (voiced by Colin Moody) and triplet sisters Flopsy (voiced by Margot Robbie), Mopsy (voiced by Elizabeth Debicki), and Cotton-Tail (voiced by Daisy Ridley) – Peter ventures into Mr. McGregor’s (Sam Neill) garden.

Their vegetable raid is interrupted by McGregor, but they find a savior in McGregor’s neighbor Bea (Rose Byrne), an animal lover who invites them into her home. Bea’s paintings, though not exceptional, hold sentimental value, particularly those of Peter’s family. Peter, motivated by nostalgia for his lost parents, returns to McGregor’s yard to retrieve his father’s jacket but finds himself in peril until McGregor succumbs to a heart attack.

In London, McGregor’s great-nephew Thomas (Domhnall Gleeson) faces career setbacks and inherits McGregor’s property, unaware of his familial connection. Determined to sell the house for personal gain, Thomas clashes with Peter and his friends, who’ve taken up residence in McGregor’s vacated home.

As tensions escalate between Thomas and the rabbits, Bea intervenes, advocating for the animals’ freedom. Despite initial agreements, Thomas seals the garden, prompting Peter’s rebellion. A series of mishaps ensue, including Benjamin’s capture and a comedic struggle for control of the garden.

Thomas and Bea’s burgeoning relationship complicates matters for Peter, who struggles with feelings of jealousy and betrayal. Amidst pranks and retaliations, misunderstandings lead to chaos and conflict between the humans and animals.

When Thomas resorts to drastic measures to evict the rabbits, endangering Bea’s safety, Peter intervenes, forging an unlikely alliance with his adversary. Together, they confront Bea, seeking reconciliation and redemption.

Despite Thomas and Peter’s efforts, Bea decides to leave, prompting a change of heart in Thomas. With Peter’s help, Thomas reaches out to Bea, apologizing and confessing his newfound understanding. Bea forgives Thomas, but their reunion is interrupted by the arrival of new homeowners.

In a final act of solidarity, Peter and his friends come to Thomas and Bea’s aid, driving off the unwanted intruders. With harmony restored, Thomas and Bea return to London, where Bea finds inspiration in Peter’s adventures and immortalises their tale in her illustrations for children’s books.

In the end, Thomas and Bea find love amidst the chaos, with Peter and his friends securing a place in their shared story of friendship, forgiveness, and home.
